Are these antivirus/antiadware programs enough?

I learned today that I have adware and perhaps a virus, so I went nuts dowloading software to combat it. I already have Norton Antivirus, but I had not updated it until today. I also downloaded System Mechanic, Spybot - Search %26 Destroy, and Ad-Aware 2007. Is there anything else you could recommend that is free?

Thanks!

You should be fine... But... Don't use System Mechanic anti virus as it will conflict with Norton.

You should only have one antivirus installed at a time. Having more than one antivirus program installed at once is likely to cause conflicts and may well decrease your overall protection as well as impairing the performance of your PC.

Also I would use...

Advanced WindowsCare Personal Edition

This Freeware will provide you with a deep scan of both your Registry and Windows core for any Errors and Conflicts, then make a thorough diagnosis and fix all those errors and conflicts in your system. Also give you a complete diagnosis and deep scan of your current performance status and suggest optimizations, then clean out any junk and accelerate the whole system.

Features of this fantastic program include:

Ending slow downs, freezes, crashes, and security threats.

Scanning and finding what other utilities miss on your PC.

Keeping your PC error-free and running more smoothly than ever.
